I'll take a page from Dan's book this morning and encourage you to donate to the Australian Red Cross for the victims of the terrible Bush Fire. Here's the link to their website:

Thanks to Dijanne Cevall on the Quiltart listserv for posting that to the list.

If you would rather help a quilter directly, go to Jenny Bowker's blog, Postcards from Cairo, and you will find information about her sister, Alice, a quilter whose home was totally burned out in the fire. Jenny's asking that fat quarters or any other fabric donations be sent to her at her temporary address.

Cat Stone, Australian quilter, posted to the Quiltart list concerning a quilt making project her quilt group is undertaking for bush fire victims. If you'd like to help Cat and her group, email her directly
macstone@our.net.au

Over at the Campfollower Bags and Quilts, Tia Curtis is collecting wonky star blocks that she will put together and quilt for bush fire victims.

I realize that fabric might not be a life-sustaining need right now, but it will give those poor folks something to look forward to when they have a new roof over their heads. And quilts will certainly provide warmth and comfort. Prayers go out to all those affected by these devastating fires.
